Fed: PM won't say if Australia played part in Hambali arrest

Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD isn't saying whether Australian intelligence played a partin intercepting a phone call that led to the arrest of alleged terrorist mastermind HAMBALI.

Mr HOWARD says he's reluctant to go into operational details, although he says Australiadoes cooperate with its neighbours about terrorism-related intelligence.

HAMBALI -- al-Qaeda's top man in South-East Asia and the suspected mastermind behinda string of deadly bombings including the Bali attacks -- has been captured in Thailand.

Asked on the Ten Network if Australian intelligence played a part in intercepting aphone call that led to HAMBALI'S arrest, Mr HOWARD said he's not confirming or denyingit.
