Your editorial of Dec. 6 concerning the NRA Eddie Eagle Gun Safety program deserves comment. I, along with my undersheriff, teach the Eddie Eagle program to the first-, second- and third-grade students in Columbia County. The theme of the course is ``STOP, DON'T TOUCH, LEAVE THE AREA, TELL AN ADULT.''
There is no departure from the theme, and in the course of 45 minutes, the children repeat this theme at least a dozen times.
